some things that are good
In the last week I ate and drank some pretty delicious things. So let’s talk about it.
1. Chairman Bao Food Truck: I had the steamed tofu bun and baked chicken bun and though I was full half way through there were no brakes. Couldn’t. Stop. So. Good.
2. Doughnut Dolly: You guys. Doughnut Dolly was at the SF Beer Week Closing Party giving out her fresh naughty cream doughnuts with a twist- a little Trumer Pilsner mixed in with the vanilla and creme fraiche. Super delicious, not too sweet, fluffy as a freaking cloud and cool story:
“…On a typical Saturday Hannah Hoffman sells 800 doughnuts at Temescal’s Doughnut Dolly, each pillowy ball stuffed right before your eyes with seasonal jams (nectarine, sour cherry) and boozy creams (banana rum, St. Germain Elderflower)…Hoffman’s mother, Lisa Goines, was the pastry chef at Chez Panisse for 16 years. Doughnut Dolly opened on Julia Child’s 100th birthday, August 15, 2012.” -The Influence of Alice Waters Chez Panisee on Oakland
3. Pliny The Younger: A taste of The Russian River Brewing Company’s limited edition brew was well worth a little waiting in line. *Thanks KC for making it happen!* Triple IPA, 10.25% goodness. mmmmm…beer…
