Just because you don’t have a lot of space doesn’t mean can’t have a lot of great design details! I love the pops of color, pattern and texture here and that makes this my interior of the day:

It’s not so much about the designer names here, or a complex design scheme…but what I love about this interior is how honest and happy it somehow feels. I’m not usually a fan of wood panels, but I like the squares here, and the checkered floor in the hallway is so perfectly worn, it tells a story of life lived. It’s raining today and I’d love to have the day to myself with a fat stack of magazines! That and the gold cord exposed bulb pendant make this the interior of the day! Happy Tuesday…3 days til L.A.!!
Yesterday was a lovely February San Francisco day (today’s not bad either!) and I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon at the San Francisco Design Center, amidst the Design San Francisco event and the winter market. First I toured the lovely Baker showroom. Then I sat in on an inspiring and very informational panel discussion regarding licensing versus manufacturing furniture and the likes. Finally, I strolled the grounds of Restoration Hardware, wine in hand…lovely event, wonderful design center! Here’s to San Francisco and good design…enjoy my humble photos.
Whether I’m simply layering t-shirts or applying the practice to interiors, the ‘layered look’ has always been among my favorites. From making things just a little more interesting to lending themselves to great story telling and adding dimension and complexity, layers done right can be so wonderful.
Besides the overall serenity of this room, I am in love with the desk, headboard and and gold pendant….I would rather be here, where ever this is and that makes this the interior of the day. I hope everyone had a reflective MLK day and got to see the all amazing-ness (Niner Faithful!!) across the NFL this weekend. xo, co
I adore this red and gray and white bedroom via Desire to Inspire, and would love to see it in a little home by the river…so sweet.
