I am in love! Just ordered this little guy in kiwi. It’s like he was made just for me! (I have a lot of good qualities but getting up on time in the morning is not one of them. My friends and family can attest to this.)

For me, the vintage industrial look is perfection. So what does that say about me? Well it’s sure not soft and girly. I am quite romantic, but when it comes to this I guess I think the look is a little guarded, kind of sad but beautiful –and you know there is a story there. Some long, dark night working in the garage on something really important…i don’t know but to me it means hard work, strong, practical, efficient, simple, no nonsense….what does the look say to you?

Over the weekend it dawned on me- I need to get my knives out from the cluster they are presently in- lying all over my top kitchen drawer. They wound up there in the first place because I don’t have the counter space for a traditional knife block. The solution? Look to the walls…

Retail therapy

Spotlight: Propellor on Hayes and Laguna. I love stumbling in to this store on my lunch break- it’s chock full of inspired design pieces. Right now my wish list includes the gold pig bank (pictured) and a cut-out side table in white. I also like the couch in their window display- I could see this in my office for sure! Today, though, I’ll have to just spend my pretend decorating money and keep wishing!
